Depth Optimized Efficient Homomorphic Sorting

چکیده
We introduce a sorting scheme which is capable of efficiently sorting encrypted data without the secret key. The technique is obtained by focusing on the multiplicative depth of the sorting circuit alongside the more traditional metrics such as number of comparisons and number of iterations. The reduced depth allows much reduced noise growth and thereby makes it possible to select smaller parameter sizes in somewhat homomorphic encryption instantiations resulting in greater efficiency savings. We first consider a number of well known comparison based sorting algorithms as well as some sorting networks, and analyze their circuit implementations with respect to multiplicative depth. In what follows, we introduce a new ranking based sorting scheme and rigorously analyze the multiplicative depth complexity as O(log(N)+log(`)), where N is the size of the array to be sorted and ` is the bit size of the array elements. Finally, we simulate our sorting scheme using a leveled/batched instantiation of a SWHE library. Our sorting scheme performs favorably over the analyzed classical sorting algorithms.

متن کاملHomomorphic Rank Sort Using Surrogate Polynomials
In this paper we propose a rank based algorithm for sorting encrypted data using monomials. Greedy Sort is a sorting technique that achieves to minimize the depth of the homomorphic evaluations. It is a costly algorithm due to excessive ciphertext multiplications and its implementation is cumbersome. Another method Direct Sort has a slightly deeper circuit than Greedy Sort, nevertheless it is s...

We present a hardware architecture for all building blocks required in polynomial ring based fully homomorphic schemes and use it to instantiate the somewhat homomorphic encryption scheme YASHE. Our implementation is the first FPGA implementation that is designed for evaluating functions on homomorphically encrypted data (up to a certain multiplicative depth) and we illustrate this capability b...

We describe numerous optimizations that go into engineering such an implementation, including highly optimized general purpose bit-matrix transposition and efficient ECC encoding given the associated generator matrix.
